Man Points Gun At Juveniles On West Point Roadway
A West Point father requested that law enforcement authorities undertake an investigation during the weekend after a man pointed a gun at two juveniles on a public roadway.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department met with the father and victims at their West Point home around 9:00 p.m. Saturday.
The juvenile, a sixteen year old male, told deputies that he and his girlfriend, age 14, had been riding four wheelers throughout the day and had been with a group of riders earlier.
He said that a man he knew only as “Don” had been consuming moonshine, and that he had helped him get his Dodge truck back on the roadway after he had backed into a ditch.
The teen said that they were following the truck along Ridge Road when the man stopped, partially blocking the roadway and forcing them to stop.
He said that the man stepped out and pointed a black, .22 caliber revolver at them, making comments about individuals they had seen shortly before. He told deputies that he darted around the man and sped away.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the matter at the current time.
